Challenging the myth that coaching is only for the lost or broken.
Why do smart, creative people avoid coaching? I’ve seen it happen over and over again—especially among makers, and small business owners who already do so much on their own. Many think coaching is for people who are lost or need fixing, or for corporate CEOs but in reality, it’s for anyone who wants to grow with more clarity and ease.
In this episode, I share what coaching really is (and isn’t) and why I believe it’s a framework for growth, for anyone. I talk about my own experiences as both coach and client—how working with other coaches helped me untangle my thoughts, create space for change, and take action in ways that felt aligned and sustainable.

I also look at the cultural layer of all this, especially here in the Netherlands. We often value self-sufficiency so much that we resist seeking help. But coaching isn’t indulgent—it’s intentional. It’s a collaborative thinking partnership that helps you turn tangled ideas into something clear and useful, like winding a skein into a neat ball of yarn.
Whether you’re running a creative business or navigating change in your life, this episode is an invitation to see coaching differently. You don’t have to be lost to need it—you just have to be ready for what’s next.
